Recently, we have all been spending much more time at home, which can feel quite monotone after a few weeks. Today, I want to share with you a few tips I have been practicing in my SF apartment. For the past week, I’ve been moving some things around to keep our space more interesting and livable.
The first thing I did was very easy, but had a big impact: I moved our Monstera plant that was sitting in our bedroom to our living room. Well, this one small change made me very happy! Now, I get to see this big, beautiful greenery, which is both visually pleasing and makes me feel at ease whenever I glance at that corner. It greatly improved the corner by our TV, where before we had tucked in our plywood Eames chair. The chair now sits by our plant which created a nice little reading spot.

The second thing I did in this same area was to switch up a few objects right next to the TV. Personally, I think if you don’t have a separate TV room, which many of us living in apartments don’t, TV’s should be subtle, even hidden if you can. I’ve chosen to surround ours with pretty objects like some nice books we had in our bookshelf, more little plants, some art, and this pretty bird from Norman Copenhagen.

In our case, we don’t have too much space around our TV, otherwise I would definitely have layered some additional objects on our TV stand, maybe even some taller pieces to draw more attention away from this big, black rectangle.
I’ve also decided to round up some inspiration images for how you can style up shelves or buffets with some of your favorite objects that you might already have lying around you place. I hope you’re excited to change it up, it can be so refreshing!
